Starting 2021 and for a period of 10 years, the Lower North Thompson Community Forest Society will be making available and disbursing a total of $6,650 per year in adult education bursaries to successful adult (19+) applicants residing within the District of Barriere or Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Area ‘O’ and who are enrolled or entering into a trades, technology or environmental program within 18 months of the application deadline.
This funding has been provided by Trans Mountain via the District of Barriere and TNRD Area ‘O’.
The bursary is a non-repayable award granted to eligible adult student(s) who submit a completed bursary application form, and who demonstrate that they are in need of financial assistance to complete their academic goals.
To be considered for a bursary you must:
- Be a minimum 19 years old
- Reside within the District of Barriere or Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Electoral Area ‘O’
- Be enrolled or entering into a trades, technology or environmental program within 18 months of the application deadline
- Document financial need by completing and submitting a bursary application form.
Note: You can only receive this student bursary once per calendar year (January 1 to December 31), or one time per program if program is 12 months or less.
As funds are limited, bursaries are awarded to those students who best demonstrate their need for financial assistance.

To apply for a bursary, submit a completed application form and supporting documentation to the LNTCFSociety@telus.net prior to the application deadline of June 30th.
Bursary application status & decisions
Bursary applications will be reviewed by the LNTCFS and results will be available by mid-July following the June 30th application deadline.
Terms and conditions Bursary funds will be issued to the applicant upon presentation of proof of registration within 18 months of the application deadline.
