Job Creation Partnerships

Job Creation Partnerships (JCP) provided hands-on skills for those seeking employment in our community. The LNTCFS has sponsored a total of ten JCPs.  These projects were funded by the Province of BC with the LNTCFS acting as sponsor and trustee.

During this time, JCP participants worked to develop and maintain a significant trail network, campsites, and a geocaching program for the Lower North Thompson. They also conducted silviculture work (tree planting and manual brushing), range management work (invasive plant control and fenceline repairs), milling and carpentry/construction of recreation site infrastructure, and prefabricated post-and-beam cabins.

Supporting a Cooperative Economy

Check out this video produced through Interior Savings that showcased one of our Milling & Carpentry JCPs. The Lower North Thompson Community Forest Society gratefully acknowledges the financial support of Interior Savings Credit Union, Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust, the Ministry of Social Development, and the many groups and individuals who contributed to making this program a success!
